Get the iOS 12 public beta on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Apple unveiled the latest version of its mobile operating system - IOS 12. Although the update focuses primarily on providing a faster and better operating system through the old iPhone and iPad, it also includes a number of new applications and new device features.

As usual, the final version will not be released until the fall, with the new iPhone. But for those who can not wait all this time, they can still try the general beta. Here's how to configure it now.

   Compatible device

First, make sure the device is capable of running the iOS version as iOS 11, iOS 12 supports only 64-bit devices, meaning 32-bit devices can not be updated.

Here's your iPhone, iPad, and iPod:

iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, SE, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, 8 Plus iPhone, iPhone X
iPad, iPad, iPod, iPad 2, iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad 3
iPod touch (6th generation)

BackUp your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Before upgrading to iOS 12 Beta, make sure your device data is supported. That way, if you lose something when you download the new operating system, it's easy to get things back to where they were originally.

You can choose to copy data to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch via iCloud or iTunes on a PC or Mac.

Here's how to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud:

Connect your device to a Wi-Fi network.
Open Settings, select your name, and click iCloud. (If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, you should scroll down and click on iCloud.)
Click Copy backup on iCloud. (For iOS 10.2 or older users, click Backup). Make sure iCloud Backup is running.
Click Copy Now
You must also make sure that the backup is complete. You can do this by opening the settings, by clicking on its name, by going to iCloud> iCloud Storage> Storage Manager, and clicking on device in the list.

If you choose to back up your device using a computer, you can use the iTunes built-in backup.

Here's how to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using iTunes:

Make sure you update iTunes to the latest version and open and connect your iOS device.
Follow the instructions on the screen if you need a message to enter your device with a password or trust this computer.
Select iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes.
You can save usage and health data from your iOS device or Apple Watch Select encryption and create an access code. If you do not want to save health data and features, you can click Run Backup Now.
After this process, you can verify that the backup is successful, or click iTunes> Device Preferences (Mac) or Edit> Options> Device (PC).

Download the beta iOS 12 beta

To download the beta, go to beta.apple.com using the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and click "Start." You will be asked to list your device, which you will need to use with the Apple ID. Then you need to load the configuration profile.

Install iOS 12 Beta on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

Once your profile has been uploaded, go to Settings> General> Update App. Then you can click on "Download and install" and ask for the password. After accepting the terms, your device will start downloading the test version. When the download is complete and your device restarts, you must officially activate iOS 12.

Please note that there are some beta features. We therefore do not recommend installing iOS 12 on your main phone at this time.
